Posts: 122 04/08/02 22:32	Tags : None Well, they did it... But which "they" do I mean? Chris, you said you wanted to get all of Tale #19 done before posting it, and I can see why. That is a quite delightful story; touching, witty (but also laugh-out-loud funny in spots), charming... (where'd that book of synonyms go? ) Wonderful stuff, but it would have lost something with a gap between chapters, so well done for doing the right thing and finishing it first. I do have one small question, though: what's Bengay? I'd kinda like to know the full perfidy involved in Dick's college pranks... I will now wait patiently (okay, as patiently as I can) for What Comes Next. It's bound to be worth the wait.

Bengay is a "muscle rub" for bach aches, arthritis, muscle strain etc. It's active ingredients include Menthol and Camphor, and it's most memorable advertising campaign touted "Deep Heating" To put it into contact with, shall we say, sensitive tissue, is as Selina pointed out, an idea too diabolical to have occured to any mere comicbook villain, but has, I am told, occured to a number of high school and college athletes.

Posts: 0 06/13/05 12:49	Ri-ii-ight... Now I get the Bengay bit. <wince> We have similar stuff here, called "Deep Heat", and I can imagine the effects of using that on "sensitive tissue." My wife also knows, from unpleasant personal experience as a child (she told her mother what it said on the package, but would she listen? ) that you don't apply it to open wounds! And then there's the time we both found out that too much disinfectant in a bath can be... but I digress.

Posts: 0 06/13/05 12:49	As usual, brilliant chapters! I was up til 2 AM last night reading it to my girlfriend. I'm dragging a little at work today because of it Anyway, as we were going along in the story, we got to the section where the 4 ladies stole away to the library with the bottles of Champagne, I stopped reading and my GF and I looked at each other and said, in unison: "West Wing!" Bit of a West Wing fan, are you? Especially with the whole "I might wanna write a book someday" comment. We both just started laughing for about 5 minutes and couldn't stop. It was a beautiful use of that scene! Anyway, great as always and we await the next installment "with bated breath!" ~Michael

Posts: 0 06/13/05 12:49	One of those little things that suddenly jumps up and grabs you by the curiosity gland... Why did Harley need to get that bra back? I can accept, with her unique devotion to the idea of Lurve, that she'd decide that it was easier (and more appropriate) to get it during a wedding and reception, but what was it about that particular bra that made it so important to take the risk? Was she afraid that someone else would find it and identify it, and the story would get back to Puddin'? But, after so long a time since the Festival from Hell, wouldn't that have already happened if it was going to? Why do I have the feeling that there's a story in this?

Posts: 0 06/13/05 12:49	Interesting. Well, I agree there may be some unexplored possabilities here, and I'm not saying the subject won't come up again. But at the moment - remember that Harley a) is not the most logical creature on god's earth and b) she's been out of the country most of this time. This really is her first chance to come back to the manor and retrieve her property. I would say her thinking is simply that it's a loose end. Even if it hasn't been found yet, a gal doesn't want to think she's left her underwear in some dark corner of someone else's home, sitting there like a ticking lycra timebomb with cotton lace trim. Actually that's the case without involving the specific personalities of Joker and Catwoman.

Kewl Anyway, I just left my review for you story today, but there just aren't enough words to tell you how much I truly enjoyed it. I loved Bruce/Batman's interior debate and Selina's finally taking charge of everything. Simply devine. The one jarring note in the whole thing - yellow and teal??? What kind of color scheme is that for a wedding LOL! And ruffles? Poor Selina. She's just too good for her own good.
