Hello,
Just read the first chapter of "Something Borrowed." I loved it. Yes the Cat POV was a great idea. It was great. I haven't wrote to you in a long time and the stuff you've been writing is just plain great. Keep up the good work, I can't wait for the next chapter of "Something Borrowed." CHRIS!! It's wonderful, magnificent, funny....and
perfect!! I kept asking myself, "Was it Bats,
nah, yes, no...well maybe...nah, well...could be?
Nah...but...hmmmm!" No it wasn't obvious--it was
perfect!! I LOVE THIS!!
**sigh** You do it so well, and all sucking up aside, I bow to your style, creativity, and humor...you say I'm funny but I don't have a story that gets 20 posts for TWO chapters...!! Chris, I can't tell you enough how good and extraordinary you are. It's so frustrating that THIS is not canon. I feel like writing Bru now and telling him--you ain't #$@%!! Sorry folks but it just doesn't compare...Oh, here come the pains in my chest. What's the "line" from JC Superstar, where Judas says something to the effect of "How can you spend your money on oils for HIS feet..." and Jesus says, "No matter what you say or do there will always be hungry and poor..." WELL IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT!! Okay, I'm all right, I'm all right... Fine, it's just a matter of perspective...though it may not be written down in black and white...to me, this is how it is. |

Chris, the title of Chapter 3 should be stuffed,
mounted and framed as an unmatchable example of the art
of understatement! Weird is not the word... Hilarious is
far better, preferably reinforced by several
synonyms...
And Whiskers and Nutmeg were excellent as a counterpoint to the goings-on (oh, Zarquon, I'm starting to sound like Aunt Maud! <whimper>) between the humans. Nothing like a little feline logic and self-absorbtion to make crazy people seem even more absurd. Nice to see references to the DCU outside Gotham, though when did Lois and Barbara get so chummy? I await further developments with some interest. Now, who could you set up Dinahwith? |

Chapter Three, I thought, was one of the funniest
things you've written since - well, I guess Joker and
Harley's anniversary at (what do you know) the Iceberg.
As the place where you can always expect multiple Rogues
to gather and often show their more normal and human
sides, scenes at Oswald's club are usually pretty
hysterical (I still say the added dimensions you give
Selina and the other Rogues is bar none the best thing
you do with this series - not that I don't like the other
stuff).
Oh, and can't blame Harley for running off to Paris. At least someone appreciates her "derriere magnifique"! Anyway, the whole thing was quite good, and thanks for your speediness. *wave* Sincerely, Allaine |

Hmm, good point about Lois & Barbara - okay, cracking knuckles - time for a little retroactive deconstructive ass-covering: Barbara needed a "Something Borrowed" - Steph and Cassie are, like a size 2, everything Selina has is purple, Dinah...Fishnets - hey wait, Lois! Lois had that cute bracelet at her wedding, my good friend Lois, that's the ticket. Lois, of course, is touched Barbara remembered a little thing like that from her special day. So nice to be asked and all that. Gush mode/on. >>references to the DCU outside Gotham Evil grin. You ain't seen nothin' yet.  By the by, who SHOULD we set Dinah up with ? |
