Jarissa, thanks for pointing out that about the font, I tend to forget that not everybody uses the same screen size (and 19 inch monitor, bwhaha, gloat gloat) as me, and what looks good here, might not there. I'll make it a tad larger and, ergo, hopefully more legible. Oh, that font which you like is "Acadian" and easily downloadable off such places that distribute such fonts, like CoolFonts.com or DaFont.com. Happy hunting!

Susanah, welcome to the wonderful world that is Jason Blood and Etrigan's. Don't worry about that learning curve too much, hopefully we'll elaborate things as we go along, and Jason's telling of his own story to Catwoman should have helped a bit.

Just as a clarification, Lyle, the Lady of Avalon, is a different person than the Arthurian Lady of the Lake (the one who holds Excalibur up out of the water). Avalon is an mystical isle some ways off the coast of England, and is, incidentally, where Arthur was taken after his mortal wounding in battle at the hands of Mordred.

Lyle is mentioned, briefly, in actual Arthurian mythology, but not a whole lot about her. She follows the Arthurian pattern of being a "great lady" (i.e., a witch and queen, like Morgana le Faye) and is generally not seen by the knights as a benevolent figure, though they of course had their own biases against any woman practicing magic. (Or, indeed, any woman who knew how to read.... or write.... or had a basic knowledge of medicinal herbs... or, indeed, knew how to do anything besides cook and make babies). *ahem, side ramble*

...the Lyle of actual Arthurian myth seems to have maintained something of a convent/witch-training-school (often synonomous in Arthurian terms) on her island. At her orders, one of her students brings a cursed sword (Lyle did the enchanting of it) to Arthur's court that ends up causing lots of trouble... This is the sword that dooms Balin (also known as the Knight of Two Swords) to kill Balan, his brother, and lots of other people besides. IF you would like to know more about the 'actual' Lyle, I suggest finding the story "The Knight of Two Swords" and giving it a read-through. (My version is by John Steinbeck, a retelling of Malory's originals.)
