You've got a comma out of place, where a period probably meant to be, at the end of the first bit regarding Eddie and anagrams. I'm looking forward to the acting that the Riddler will find himself forced to exhibit, in the future, supporting the notion that he might've had a crush on Selina. (Could be worse, Eddie old boy. Harvey might've thought the Post had twisted your brain, and you'd been drugged into some sort of false crush on *Bruce*. Thank God for Rogue sanity amongst you three, eh?) |

I read the chapter at long last, valiantly resisting the reading of this thread until I had time to do so. Then I wrote a full page's worth of commentary on the chapter and my reaction to it, and my reactions to what had been said here... And EZBoard just spit it out. And I don't have time to rewrite it all! Well, it was a damn good chapter, and I can't wait to read the next one! And I predict the idea of Riddler and Catman WILL hit DC sooner or later, to everyone's horror. |

I loved the face off between Bruce and Eddie. I can't say I have much sympathy for Eddie, though. Is Dr. Bartholomew fate's new bitch? I like him, the poor guy. Bah, I need to go take my last exam. Keep up the good writing, Chris! (Okay, I know you will because you're great like that.) |

Okay, to open, it is good to see that Selina kept
her cool. Of course, the woman needs to be given a
blasted Oscar for keeping her cool with Eddie acting the fool
behind Harvey's back and then Superman dropping by to
save the day! Ten out of ten, Ms. Kyle!
She is also right about the relationship between Dick and Bruce. "Thanks Dick" is nothing to you and I. To them, it says volumes. What I think is good in the relationship between Raven and Dr. Leyland Bartholemew is that the two of them share a common situation - Their lives are dominated by and, to a certain degree, are only continuing at the pleasure of the more unstable Rogues. Raven understands the need to tread carefully around Jack as well as Bart does. Bart knows the need to look past the madman to the client as well as Raven does. I think that the two of them might yet be able to figure out an arrangement. I do hope that they enjoy their 'sick' day.  Lovely little Joker moment: How many times can you get FOX News to say 'botulism' in one report?  Oh, that
guy is just sick!Poor Bruce. I imagine that it is difficult, having your deepest vulnerability exposed. What he needs to realise is that Selina doesn't care all that much about his past. Bruce Wayne is more to her than that haunted child. Batman is more, far more, than that haunted child too. And so we reach the grand climax of Cat Tales. Bruce and Selina must face that all-powerful and all-feared C-word. The pink sapphire has raised its head. The question that they are going to have to face is: where is "this" going? "This" being their relationship. I don't think that Selina is listening to the tick-tock of her body clock but I do think she is worried that they are in a rut. More importatly, I think she is increasingly frustrated that there is only so far that Bruce will let her into his heart; that he actually does not want certain parts of himself open to her. To Selina, that is a kind of rejection and probably makes her wonder if the whole relationship is even working. BenRG's Rating: 8/10 What will happen in the next installment is this: The duo must decide where Selina is going to go with her life and where Bruce will go with his. Will they finally make the final move together, or will they finally split apart? We wait to see... ~*~*~*~ They call me BenRG But... I don't know why... ~*~*~*~ |

seems
too episodic, things have changed but only slightly sense the last story, like in "The Simpsons." |

I would disagree with you on that, Ben. To me its
not about the Commitment word; except as peripheral to
the issue at hand. Seleina is very much committed to
Bruce... even if she doesnt USE the C word.
She can see that Bruce is in pain over something, but she doesnt quite see just what it is as well as we have, thanks to Chris' window into Bruce's thoughts as well. Ergo while we know it was because of his exposing that safe which he never intended anyone by himself to ever know about, the safe with his ultimate secrets that he intended to take to the grave... she doesnt.... at least not perse. As she puts it... she knows that there is an elephant in the room, and that Brude is determined not to mention it yet. Still, as we can see from the last paragraph, Selina at least sees the Elephant, even if she only recognizes it in comparison to the Saphire world mentioned... bah. I ramble. Selena knows Bruce is hurting. She doesnt understand why. She's saying "Please, tell me when you can". "I was an Otaku before those kids

I think that you misunderstood my point,
StarRanger. I wasn't suggesting that the problem was
commitment; I think that Selina is questioning whether
Bruce can ever completely open up to her. That he still
is prickly and defensive over some aspects of his life
and background after all they have been through together
worries her and makes her wonder how real his feelings are for her.
