Posts: 388 11/01/06 04:57 Gothamite	I'm enjoying the storyline centering around Nightwing's reaction to the reemergence of PsychoBat. Dick's always had a disconnect with regards to Batman, specifically the way that even when he finds Bruce most intolerable, he'll defend him to the death to anyone who isn't part of their family-unit. Now it's everyone else who is having trouble dealing with him. I'm wondering if this is a result of what happened in Fortune Cookies. I'm also wondering what's changed. Is it that Bruce is treating Dick less like a child (or a subordinate) and more like an adult/partner or is it that Dick's mature enough to be able to relate to Bruce as an equal?

Posts: 345 11/01/06 05:44 Titans Together!	Nathan: I would say it's a little of Column A and a little from Column B. Both Bruce and Dick can relate to having strong female presences in the house and Dick's grown up admirably since becoming hitched, on top of what we saw in Fortune Cookies. I have to say though that Dick's way of dealing with the discontent of the rest of the clan was well done and was a lot better than Bruce's way. More evidence of that mature and responsible 'Wing we saw in Fortune Cookies. I have to say, I'm looking forward to seeing Selina's reaction to Clark's request. On one hand, it's League BS. But, it's also six rare Bengal tigers that have been abused... League distrust vs. feline empathy. That's a tough one. "Here's to crime!"

I jokerlaughed. Out loud. "HahahahahahahaaHAHAHAHAHahahahahHAHAHAHAhahhahahahaa!" I, too, was glad to see the more-sensible Wing. Even a year ago, he would have been grousing with the rest of them, or at least that's my perception, rather than agreeing about discipline, training, and logs. And I think he's telling himself a white lie about 'not complaining and whining about [Zogger]'.... but yes, I can imagine Alfred saying such a thing in response to his whining. Be glad to see where this goes, Chris. Thanks for a great Opening Act to this Opera... which hopefully won't be a Russian one :P

Time will tell. ;) Stephensmat, LOL You outdid yourself. "How to get Joker in love with Gladys" (along with the rest of it) goes into the file for when I need a good laugh. Nerd hot talk ROFL Kessie, it's PsychoBat the control freak that has Barbara ready to throw her puter and anything else out the window. And Huntress hasn't done anything, Barbara was making a simple joke since Helena is attending the meeting "virtually" and isn't in the room with the rest of them, she can't have any ice cream. And danvighar, Yep, Dick's memory is a little selective there. It would be more accurate to say that he couldn't GET AWAY with whining about Zogger (since there was no one but Alfred and Bruce to whine to), but I think we're all guilty of that kind of thing.

Posts: 428 11/01/06 22:27	Well a new saga has begun and I can't wait to see what lies in wait. Okay, I'm going to review this as I read, so I apologise in advance if the flow gets a bit disconnected. I'll try to edit it post-typing for coherence but... Okay, first thing's first: Poor Eddie! I'm with you, pal! You either love opera or you hate it. He and I appear to hold the same point of view. Still, you would have to be an idiot not to spend an evening with Selina without the ever-present Bat ready to spread your brains over the far wall like a modern art installation if you touch the wrong spot. And I loved his meditations on a theme crime wave. For Eddie, his battle with Bruce will always be a game of chess. The rewards are probably secondary these days to the contest. For this reason, I've always felt that this gives The Riddler a definate claim to the "Greatest Foe" tag. A little bit of hard reality there for Dick - Usually the ones who claim the highest motives have the basist goals. I do think that Barbara is worrying a bit too much. Bruce must have really been shaken by how totally Ivy took him over. The fact that Selina had to save him probably offends his old-world sense of propriety too (blame Alfread and Dr. Thomas for that) - The gal saving the guy? He is off balance and PsychoBat is his way of dealing with this. He probably also has got a bit wary of asking her for 'favours' where the Catitat is involved (remember the Siberian Tiger he suggested as a bodyguard? ). He probably doesn't want to provoke her to more... feline... incidents like the one at the end of the Amuse Bouche. Tim and Cassie will just have to suck it up - besides, Dick is right about those links and the necessity of a bit of back-work in the log entries. They aren't just vigilanties, after all, but bona-fide investigators too. ... Okay, I'll admit that Cassie probably enjoys the head-breaking bit more than the sifting of clues but that is just her. ... And... Eddie scores!!! I can't wait to see what happens when The Riddler, Whole-Face Dent and their dates turn up at the Iceberg. Besides Ozzie passing out because of the size of the credit lines the girls buy that is... As for Selina, she is going on patrol! HA! Not only has she infected Bruce with her Cat-like viewpoint, but she is picking up aspects of the Mission. Beware, Selina! You may soon be have the regular #2 seat in the Batmobile Yes, this story has definite potential. I can't wait to see where things go. ~~~~ They call me BenRG* But... I don't know why... ~~~*~

Presumably the literate ones know that Joker will kill you because you wore brown on Tuesday, but how far can you push each individual rogue before the repercussions get ugly? Rubbing hands together evilly, this should be fun! I love the characterization, as always. I'm hoping those tigers get a home. Of course, this should not be free for the JLA. Another opportunity for fun!

Posts: 428 11/11/06 01:17	Whee! Looks like I'm one of the first to review this time! Okay, let's get this show on the road! Looks like Dr. Bart is a man with a mission. Oddly enough, I do think that being most of the alpha-Rogues' personal headshrinker would make him very welcome at the Iceberg. In a very odd way, his is one of them. I won't tell him that, of course; it would probably precipitate a nervous breakdown. The 'Berg's "off duty" rule will even mean that he could even have a drink without being pestered for a private session. However... well, poor Dr. Bart. Harvey and Eddie are acting as Cupid for him and Raven. Could his life get any worse? I liked that little bit about the Kents' home life. Somehow, it is a common cliché that Lois isn't too good with domestic things, especially cooking. I find that vaguely insulting to professional women in general but strangely in-character for Lois in particular. She strikes me as a woman who is so often in a rush that she never has had the time to learn to cook. I can empathize as I have only just recently had the cause to learn myself. Heh. I knew that Penny and Muffy would love the rush from being in a room full of Rogues. I just hope that neither of them do anything stupid (anyone remember Nocturna and the Thief of the Night? That is an example of a thrill rush taken to its extreme ). So... it is about that safe and the mementos of the murder of Bruce's parents - probably the most intimate part of his psyche. Well, given how psychologically vulnerable he was at the time he left the gold bar there, you could argue that Bruce wouldn't have done anything that he didn't fundamentally want to do and certainly not induced Selina to uncover any secrets that he didn't want to uncover. However, I think analysing things like this is a bad move. He should do as Selina often suggests and go with the hand that the unchangable past has dealt out to him. As he pointed out to himself - she missed him and she was happy to see him again. Run with the love Bruce. Just run with the love. And Dick and Tim have learnt an important life lesson: Yes, it does hurt to ask. Finally... You know, I do think that Clark did it. He found (mostly by accidnet) the only way that Selina would take that news without being offended. It is an issue that he needs resolved and she has the means to resolve it. Is she in? Coming next time... Well, I do think that the three male generations of the Bat Family need to talk while Selina paces and tries to come up with reasons to refuse Clark's offer (and mentally rages at the thought of any cat except her clawing Bruce's armour). Actually I agree with Ben, Selina will take the way he approached the subject fairly well... the whole criminal denial thing might tick her off a bit, but essentially he approached her with a buisness matter. Of course he's also ASSUMING she'll be willing to do buisness. Clark really hit upon the real issue though: he's not sure of where he stands with her. He doesn't know how to relate to her as a human being. She's not "selina kyle" odd and eccentric girlfriend of Bruce Wayne employer and pseudo friend of Clark Kent; she's "catwoman" former criminal mastermind now boffing batman and who probably thinks Superman's a concieted prig. Selina would be more than capable of getting over Clarks issues if only Clark could, but he gets nervous and flustered and to Selina that's nothing more than chum in the water.

"Patient Nigmeister...er...Nigma wanted to discuss dating rather than the roots of his riddle obsession." Loved Dicks dream. Tim needs to start looking out for a "Get your dignity back Protocol", cause its bound to be in the pipeline. If things don't go Badly with Selina, Clark is going to have to actually make something happen somewhere so he doesn't just show up with a sack of bagles. Looking forwards to the next chapter.

Whereas Eddie - well, I hope he doesn't decide to take Penny down to Borders for some impulse shopping. "Doris? . . . Good, good, and you?
