I was bored at my campus job and wrote this in about 45 minutes. It's a quick story about Mystique and her relationship with her kids. It's something I've been thinking about for a long time. Technically there's a specific place in recent continuity it takes place in, but that's because I'm the guy who obsesses about continuity. Really, it's unnecessary to know anything about the recent comics to appreciate it.
One warning is that it is unbeta'd, and I despise proof reading.
