There's nothing wrong with talking to yourself, Tim, especially when you're stuck in such an unfair situation and need to vent. Don't ever let
anyone tell you otherwise. After all, if you don't, you might wind up dressing up with your underwear over your pants and take out your frustrations on...
oh, too late, huh?
I agree that Tim and Dick have probably had these conversations before, particularly as the latter made a point of keeping in touch with the next Robin. If
Batman is just finding out now, well, he might not be the hotshot detective everyone makes him out to be. Still, he's clearly a good teacher. Throwing
these pop quizzes aren't fun, but they do help you see whether your student understands his or her material.
Regarding Papa Cain's training: it's one thing to identify a threat that outclasses your present level of training and resources, and retreat
accordingly. It's another thing entirely to do that while completely freaking out in the process. Inducing that sort of panic is poor tacticial training
and, more importantly, another reason why he's one heck of a screwed up "parent". I wouldn't be so hard on Clark if I were Selina. Just
because it's obvious to you doesn't mean it's obvious to everyone else. Still, Clark clearly impressed her with his response to calm Cassie down
once he did understand what was the problem. It was so sweet, and so Clark. I can't put it any better than that. Speaking of sweet, whether she wants to
admit it or not, Selina makes a good mom. It was also great to see Clark's version of the Fop act. Very charming, very disarming, and completely masks
the investigating hero. I guess, sometimes, that "S" on his chest can stand for "smart".
And the ongoing mystery that led to the cliffhanger... I'm gonna have to read it again, when I'm a little more alert, to unravel the clues. Be right
back.
