I've said it time and time again that this case hit far too close to home for Batman, and invariably altered how he'd otherwise handle the investigation. So I won't say more on that front, other to voice my surprise that it took this long for the stress to start messing with his dreams/nightmares.

After the last chapter, I was half-expecting Two-Face to continue his rampage by trashing the Vault. That made Two-Face's decision to delay his grand return with some headhunting (or hench-hunting) so much fun! Rather than take the lazy way out and treat henchmen like mass-produced clones or drones, it took the time to highlight how unique different cities and (groups of) henchmen can be: each city has its own character and ambience that influences the people, including henchmen, who reside there. It was also quite entertaining to read all the themed names Two-Face gave to his new crew--a very nice touch, indeed!

So Ozzy's out of Arkham Bed & Breakfast, his many long-standing debts to society are repaid, and he's now reopening the Vault. He wasn't too angry at the rise of the Vault and Selina's appropriation of his staff for good reason: he knew the staff had to go somewhere, he knew Selina--well, Sly, really--helped keep them together, he knew Selina isn't the type of person who would go out to dethrone him, and he's... well, sane. My only regrets on that front is that we didn't get to hear how he went about paying off all those people, how he reacted to Selina's request to delay the return of "Emperor Penguin", and what he's been doing behind the scenes to get the Iceberg re-opened so quickly. Then again, it's not worth devoting that much time, given the far more important priority to resolve the Two-Face plot.

As noted, in planning his triumphant return to Roguedom, Two-Face miscalculated by picking a place where the victims would say "Oh, hey. Long time no see." rather than "OH MY GOD! IT'S HIM! IT'S TWO-FACE! RUN!!!" As expected, Pammy would be the one to talk him down and bring out Harvey--as BenRG noted, the two do have a longstanding history. I'm not sure I expected Pammy to be so... effective. Don't get me wrong, it was 100% Pammy: from the jab against Clayface-who-can't-be-greened to the pride that made her use her wits instead of her pheromones. Still, to see her be so observant and assertive without the I-am-the-Goddess-bow-down-and-worship-me shtick was amazing. I was almost tempted to double-check to see that it was Pammy talking and not Selina! I don't think I've said this before, but I must give two thumbs up to Pammy this time. She's earned it!

I am reminded how Azrael, when faced with Catwoman, or any woman, frantically threw Jean Paul behind the wheel and let him fumble his way through the situation: "... ... ... Shit!". Similarly, when Two-Face couldn't take Pammy's logic (yes, what an oxymoron that lil gem is) any more, he frantically yanked Harvey back from whatever 4x4 cell he'd locked him in and threw him out to deal with Pammy: "... ... ... [engage lawyer mode]".

From the moment Chris confirmed Two-Face was really Harvey, I knew she wouldn't do a deus-ex-machina quick-fix that would reboot things back to square one. After all, he's (they've) evolved throughout Cat-Tales. What better way to illustrate that than to work out deals to send him to an institution other than Arkham, one where he can actually get help? What better way to demonstrate his growth than to use "two flips out of three" to reach a decision: not a complete stretch from Two-Face, who's done that before, but a definite step away from the 50-50 "one flip". And while I disagree with Batman on the "magic = quick fix 100% of the time = 100% unpredictable" argument (you could use a series of gradual magical treatments instead of one large one, not all magic is done without any forethought, and it's not entirely Jason's fault that his treatment was so sudden and flimsy), I agree that Harvey should get rid of Darth when he's ready, not before. I can only hope that Bruce, Selina, Eddie and, yes, even Pammy will actually visit him regularly this time, and that Chris will chronicle those outings.

After all the emotional drama, what better way to end this Cat-Tales than a lighthearted ending that depicted just what Catwoman did with her ill-gotten proceeds and a peek at the next Cat-Tales, one that may be a little more relaxing? Well done, Chris. Well done.
