If that's Aaron Eckhart and if it means he'll be playing Harvey in the next Batman-movie, then I say:
EXCELLENT!

Just in case people don't want to see it, Wilder's link contains a picture of The Joker from the Dark Knight (and he's pretty damn gruesome too!)
Rumour is that picture's true, a graffiti "prank" of Harvey's poster. If it does turn out to be true, its also a good way of combating the inevitable and recently prevalent pics of Ledger online. I also suspect it (the interaction between Harv and Joker) might be a motif they use in the movie, as rumours currently claim |

Is it me, or does the second site's appearance start to look like the opening volley of a virtual reality game?

Go Mishie! (and welcome)
Something else folks, someone who reads carefully and remembers what they read (i.e. every writer's idea of a superior human being) just pointed out that there is a recurring motif in The Long Halloween "I believe in..." beginning with Bruce's "I believe in Gotham" and ending

There were was also a couple of messages if you participated in the initial e-mail system. A message was sent with some coordinates, stating:
"I always say, you never know what a man is truly made of until you peel the skin off his face one piece at a time. Here is your chance to help." If you replied to the message above, 'defacing public servants' from tragicpast@ibelieveinharveydenttoo.com, this is what was sent back. "People always ask me about my charming boyish smile. Jessica used to love it. She was the loneliest girl in high school, and my first big kiss..." |

I admit it - I'm the world's biggest Harvey Dent (not Twoface, significantly) fanboy. ;)
But Good Lord, I am so massively excited by this marketing strategy. I too noticed the nod to TLH, and the "prank" theme they're going with (in a number of ways now) is a fantastic idea. Let's hope they go with a more Loeb-esque motif, rather than the Miller-drivel they were hinting at by the end of Begins. Lest we forget, TLH is also something of an origin story for Joker in that it depicts one of his and Batman's first encounters (that fantastic bi-plane scene). |

After Director Chris Nolan officially announced plans to film several scenes, including the Joker's introduction, in IMAX format, they also released a
couple of pics. I'll put it in spoilers for those that do not want to see.

There's been a bit more going on with these guys, I just haven't thought to mention it here. Long story short, there was a scavenger hunt at some big
comic con that was documented at rent-a-clown.com or something like that. Joker festivities continued when a pumpkin like the Long Halloween first cover
appeared on a site called whysoserious.com in early october. It promptly started "rotting" day by day and eventually, on Halloween, revealed another
Joker photo, I think.
Joker is now challenging his minions to make up like him and take their picture at whatever the big local landmarks are in your area, and then submit the photos. If this viral marketing schtick is ever going to turn into an actual game, we have yet to see. The first volleys have been interesting, especially for those who consider Joker and not Harvey to be the big draw.

There's quite a lot there, gamewise. Most telling to my eye, a phone number for the subscription line, and an article about girl scout cookies with a
"Want a cookie" type ad. Now any AI-type game, that's a pretty blatant "look in your cookies" and sure enough, there is a HAHAHA.swf
in the cache that doesn't appear on the page. Hm. Opening it up

Check this website for a slow reveal of Ledger's joker - they look like they're going to be revealing a picture bit by bit over some time - only his
feet are visible at time of writing. Those socks alone give me *hope*.
EDIT: It's revealing itself a bit quicker than I realised, and will probably all be visible in a matter of days (they are up to his chest now), so I will slap a quick *SPOILER WARNING* on this... http://www.empireonline.com/heiscoming/

I have played a few of these games in the past, so let me make some suggestions for first timers:
There is a subscription number on top of the Gotham Times, call it. There is a feedback email at the bottom of Gotham Rail, email it. In following all kinds of little leads like that, you eventually start amassing clues. Now, the lack of a caption contest this week is a pretty good indicator of how much time I have to make sense out of the response to my Gotham Rail feedback email, but let's just say my inner Eddie definitely sees a puzzle to be solved.

I have that picture as my wall paper. :D
Rumour has it, the new viral stuff for TDK will be centred around everyone's favourite DA, eventually leading to a 2nd (geddit?) movie trailer shortly being released. I would assume this trailer will be more Harvey-centric, whereas I think you barely saw him in the last one. |

And so it begins (again)
If you left a phone number, you may be receiving one of those candidate calls from the Dentmeister himself, directing you back to his website. There's a bunch of downloadable bumper stickers and posters, as well as a call to do the kind of viral marketing stunts Joker had the clowns doing in the first part of the game. I'm actually reconsidering my support of Harvey Dent as a candidate. I'm all for taking back Gotham City from - well, from Millerites, basically. I'm all for supporting the guy written up in the Gotham Times. But this bozo who we are supposed to CONVINCE to run for office by organizing the CHEERLEADERS to write a cheer for him? Um, no. Sorry, Harvey.

Don't give up on Harvey! | #20 | ||

Remember We Are the Answer, Chris. Some little corner of the campaign was hijacked to make Harvey look frivolous and silly. Don't let them destroy
your faith in the real man. We are going to take back Gotham and make it into the city it is supposed to be.
