When you're all done dancing around the maypole and before the cinqo de mayo festivities begin, be sure to defrag those hard drives, update and run virus checkers, spyware blockers, firewalls and other security utilities, or if you have auto updates or auto runs, check the history and make sure they are actually updating/running. Would be a good idea to check the "virus vault" too, if you have the kind of tools that quarantines nasty stuff instead of deleting it. I have found those full to bursting on some computers. Take care of your computer friends and they'll take care of you. This concludes Oracle's monthly reminders. On with the fun.

European and regional elections today: a victory for the right-wing parties. In other words: thanks to my stupid co-countrymen, we're back to the Dark Ages. I mean, who the hell would vote for the two parties who, thanks to their ass-like obstinacy (aka their idea of diplomacy), completely sunk a much-needed possible state-reform? I'll tell you who: dumb idiots who can't see the difference between populism and realistic policy. Ghah! Churchill was right: the best argument against democracy is five minutes spent with the average voter. A meritocracy, now that has some merit: a vote for each degree a person holds OR only those who succeed in a "general political knowledge" test get to vote. As some might remember, we got a new Sacred Birman kitten in december. To keep him company, we found another kitten (a mix between a Maine Coon and a European Shorthair). She's the completely black one in the picture: Hopefully we'll soon have pictures of Dickens and Dido.

Any sage cat-advice would be welcome. At the moment it looks like Dickens is asserting his territorial rights, but I can't be sure. They're very careful in any case.
