Nice to see Batman isn't one of those "do what I say, not what I do" people. His whole "No Casual Fridays around the young ones" protocol seems a little excessive, but I guess it's understandable given who he is (and what happened to Jason). As for Barbara's response, if she didn't learn that during whatever training she had with Bruce, she probably picked it up by following Dick's cue.

A slow chapter to this story with not much seeming to happen but I have the feeling that it is a bridge to something else.

The Kittlemeier drabbles were all interesting and, I suspect, important as to the Scarecrow focus of this story. I wonder what the old man knows about Crane's dealings and chemical experiments.

Well, it was Bruce who told Stephanie Tim's ID, so he doesn't get to complain about that one.

As for Cassie, eh, I got nuthin'. Maybe Dick taught him the secret password? Or maybe Bruce makes allowances for that "pretzel trick" she does that TM has mentioned a few times. If Cassie decides she knows you, your options are limited if you want to remain in non-pretzel form.

Looks like everyone's hit all the major points, but let me add my own:

Anyone besides Alfred who mentions this is liable to get their face clawed off, but Selina has indeed become the Lady of the Manor, and mother of this weird, wild Bat-Family. She softens some of the edges, but has sharp ones of her own. More over, if there's anyone who can teach a person to vamp, it's a woman who got a listing in the JLA threat index listing her Naughty Grin as a superpower.

Chris...Cassie is adorable! I love the way she talks and her ideas about things. She's such a complex character. On the one hand, she can kill you with one finger. On the other hand, she is so completely clueless about some of the most basic things in life, how can you not treat her like a fragile child? No wonder Tim likes her, tee hee. Love her little white lie about the bodies lying and the way she claims she "no get". Ha! Very clever, Cassie!

I would guess that living in a city like that there are plenty of explanations you could use for meeting someone, that wouldn't be scrutinized. Oh Steph, yeah we met at this school thing. Or when she grabbed the last box of eggo's in the convenience store that I was after, or at a dance club, ect. Just throw it out there and move on.

Okay then, it seems the most popular development after "Cassie speaks" is Nightwing's little cameo. Fun piece of history there, as it harkens back to my very first WTF moment reading comics. This large Texas heiress checks into the concierge floor of a Gotham hotel, with a chauffeur or somebody in tow. Once the bellman is tipped and gone, "she" removes her wig to reveal Bruce in drag. Say it with me now, WTF??? Apparently he was undercover...

1) Cassie really oughta develop some protocols or training on how to fight in the event she loses her ability to read body language. Can't get too reliant on one tool, after all, lest it become a crutch.
